American Thanksgiving

So I’m not American but I’m surrounded by them. So why not join them for this holiday? 🙂 I actually ended up attending two Thanksgiving celebrations – one in Lopburi and one in Bangkok. Here I am with some friends in Lopburi at “New World Steak House” where I ate a chicken fried steak. Not my first choice (in Canada at least) but I’d heard through the expat grapevine that this dish tastled like a turkey dinner. My opinion? Not a turkey dinner but not bad. 🙂 After dinner we went to Liz and Dave’s house for some pumpkin and apple pie and some good conversation.

To top the evening off, I experimented with riding s-l-o-w-l-y past the dogs who live along the canal road and they DID NOT chase me. My teacher Khruu Wan gave me that advice. She also suggested that I ring my bike’s bell to alert them that I’m coming. Whatever works right? Still, I had my umbrella ready, in my bike’s basket, for me to pull out and hit the attacking dogs. I was thankful that I didn’t have to use it.
