One of the nice things about being away from Mae Hong Son for a few weeks this month is that I’ve managed to avoid the beginning of Smoky Season. Last year it was soooo bad that I couldn’t stand the thought of having to endure MONTHS of it – so this year I planned to be away.
But now I must go back, despite the smoke. Apparently it hasn’t been as bad as last year (not declared a disaster zone yet as far as I’m aware) and it’s supposed to rain a bit this week so that should help. Even so, I may see sights like these on my drive home today (except the roads are in MUCH better condition now and Coffee in Love is generally too busy for me to bother to stop for coffee there).
For those of you who are interested, I’ve added a little weather gadget to the bottom of the right side column. Currently, it actually says “smoke” on it. Doesn’t that just seem wrong??!!
