The other day I was walking down the street from my friend’s house in Chiang Mai and saw a flattened lizard on the road. I thought about taking a picture of it to show you – not because I thought you’d enjoy seeing the paper-thin lizard but because for the whole time I was in Canada when I was out and about and saw something out of the corner of my eye on the sidewalk or road I’d automatically assume that it was a snake or frog or lizard or some other creature that had come to its death by the wheels of some vehicle. But obviously in Canada that is very rarely the case!
Sooo… I’m back in hot and smokey (it’s that time of year again) Northern Thailand. It’s good to be back – much is the same but a lot has changed as well. I’m looking forward to finding a house to rent and getting my things moved down from Mae Hong Son to Chiang Mai, and setting up my new place. I’ve been given some time to “settle” but I’m sure that my life will get very busy very soon. I definitely need your prayers!
Yesterday morning, as I was eating breakfast at the guesthouse I’m staying at until Saturday, there was a loud commotion we could hear coming down the street. Some of the red shirts were driving around the city.
If you’re not sure who I mean by the “red shirts,” just check out the recent news about what’s going on in Thailand. Things are relatively calm up here – nothing concerning, just in case you were wondering.
